House district 94 update for the week of 8/12
August is National Black Business Month. While Black-owned businesses have seen significant growth over the last few years, Black Americans are still vastly underrepresented in the business-owner community. Recognizing Black Business Month gives us an opportunity to celebrate Black-owned businesses and their contribution to our economy while acknowledging the continuous struggle against inequality. I encourage you all to celebrate the Black-owned businesses in our community this month!

Congrats to Teacher of the Year finalist, Graciela Miranda!
Yesterday, the Indiana Department of Education Announced the top 10 finalists for the 2025 Teach of the Year award. On that list is Pike High School English Language Learner teacher Graciela Miranda! I want to congratulate Mrs. Miranda on this wonderful achievement. There are over 65,000 teachers in Indiana dedicated to supporting Hoosier students as they not only learn, but grow into who they are as a person. I am so proud to have an educator in our district recognized for the hard work and care she puts in day after day to shape the next generation of Hoosiers.
Congrats Mrs. Miranda!

This event offers the opportunity to directly interact with the elected officials who shape the community.
