Important upcoming events
Dear Neighbor,
I want to highlight two important upcoming events in our community.
Tomorrow: Property Tax Event
Tomorrow, Saturday, May 4 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. the Marion County Treasurer’s Office and Assessor’s Office will be holding an outreach event to help people in the community understand their property taxes. The event will take place at University United Methodist Church, 5959 Grandview Drive, 46228. Free refreshments will be served. If you cannot attend in-person, the meeting will also be available via zoom and Facebook live. For more information and to find the link to join virtually, visit crookedcreekalert.com.
Property taxes can be confusing, but they are a huge part of community stability as many local services depend on their funding. This event will help you decipher the who, what, where, when and why of tax bills, and find out how to make sure you are paying the lowest about possible. Make sure to bring your tax bills and feel free to ask as many questions as you like. You can submit questions early on the Crooked Creek Alert website. I hope to see you there!
Tuesday: Primary Election Day
Tuesday, May 7 is the Primary Election. Voting is one of the most important things you can do to support our community, our state and our nation. 2024 is an election year for local, state, and federal positions, and the primary determines the candidates who will make it on the ballot in November. Early voting is open now and ends this Tuesday on election day. Visit the Indianapolis voter portal at vote.indy.gov for more information about early voting, as well as election day polling locations and hours.
