Happy Halloween! The only thing scarier than All Hallows’ Eve is missing the deadline to apply to the Indiana House Democrats internship program! The final application deadline is Thursday, Oct. 31. Whether you’re carving pumpkins, watching scary movies or dressing up with your friends, we hope you’ll fit our application into your Halloween plans!
Here are some boo-tiful reasons why you should apply:
Networking & Connections. At the Statehouse, you’ll meet influential people with various backgrounds including officials in public health, environmental policy, women’s rights and more. Last year some of our interns had the opportunity to meet a political delegation from Bulgaria!
High Chance of Job Placement. Multiple government entities hire new employees directly from their intern classes, including the Indiana House Democratic Caucus. Our current staff includes 12 people who interned here at the Statehouse. Many of our former interns have found employment with the City of Indianapolis and other government offices.
One-on-One Mentorship. Our internship program is specifically designed to encourage one-on-one mentorship. You’ll be paired with a staffer and work alongside them as they complete tasks for legislators. This internship will give you hands-on experience while you learn from your supervisors and representatives.
